Reflecting on my experience with online teaching, it has been both a rewarding and challenging journey. Here's a breakdown of my thoughts on this experience:

What I Liked About Online Teaching:

One of the aspects I appreciated about online teaching was the flexibility it offered. It allowed me to adapt my teaching schedule to my students' needs, making it easier to accommodate individual learning styles. Online teaching provided a wealth of digital resources and tools, making it easier to incorporate multimedia elements into lessons and engage students in a variety of ways. Online teaching allowed for a more personalized learning experience. I could provide students with additional resources and support tailored to their specific needs, fostering individual growth.

What I Disliked About Online Teaching:

I missed the in-person interactions and personal connections that come with traditional teaching. It's challenging to gauge students' emotional well-being and engagement through a screen. Dealing with technical issues and ensuring that all students had access to the necessary technology and a stable internet connection was a constant concern. It could disrupt the flow of lessons.

New Skills Learned:

Online teaching forced me to develop several new skills. I became more proficient in using various online tools and platforms for teaching, such as video conferencing, learning management systems, and educational apps. I learned to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and students' needs. Online teaching required me to be flexible and open to trying new teaching methods. I sharpened my communication skills in written and verbal forms to ensure clarity in online instruction and maintain a sense of connection with students.

What I Would Do Differently:

In retrospect, I would focus more on building a sense of community within the online classroom. Creating opportunities for students to interact with each other and fostering a supportive online environment is something I would prioritize in the future.

Appropriate Tools for Teaching:

I chose the tools for online teaching based on their accessibility, ease of use, and compatibility with the curriculum. I used widely adopted platforms like Zoom for live classes and learning management systems like Google Classroom for organization. These tools ensured that both students and I could navigate the online environment with ease. I also made sure to select tools that promoted engagement and collaboration among students.

Development for Teaching in a School:

This experience has provided me with several valuable skills and insights that will benefit me when teaching in a school. It has taught me to be adaptable and innovative in my teaching methods, which will be essential in a dynamic classroom setting. It has also improved my ability to use technology effectively as an educational tool. Moreover, I have gained a deeper understanding of the importance of clear communication and the need for maintaining a supportive classroom community. These skills and experiences will undoubtedly be beneficial in my future teaching career, whether online or in a traditional classroom.
